On Monday night (his actual birthday), he worked late and came home only at 11pm. I had actually made a new pasta dish and bought his favorite whole roast chicken from Annam Gourmet but it was too late to eat dinner when he got home.

We were really struggling to wait up for him so that we could at least cut the cake and sing a birthday song for him. And as soon as he stepped into the house, Ray started singing "Happy You-You" to Daddy!
Since Monday was his first day back at work after a 3 day break, I had already pre-empted that he would be working late so I planned a small celebration for him yesterday instead.
The group of us (Emily who just arrived the same evening, Rachel and hubby and Lidia and her soon to be ex -husband) met up for dinner at Ngoc Suong prior to the appointment. T had work and so couldn't join us. Dinner was yummy (as always) and turned out really enjoyable even though we were afraid things would be awkward with Lidia and Fabrizio (they remain amicable).

By the time dinner ended and we arrived at Red Drum, T was a little high after being poured down with shots.

There were drinks and more drinks

10 B52s please

And a bottle of the most expensive tequila

Thanks Rach!
So you can expect how drunk we ALL were - not just the birthday boy

(Who the hell is that guy?!)
PS: When I took out the camera to look at last night's pics with Emily and Lidia, we were going "OMG" and "WTF" - we couldn't remember half the things we did! It's like our very own HANGOVER movie! Hilarious!

What is a night out without Joanne doing her signature bar-top dance!?

Surprising, the birthday boy acted sober enough (he was only pretending in this picture!)
Everyone had a great time!
