When the Giants Conquered HCMC

Cousin Cheng came to visit in Vietnam - along with her 2 adorable sons, Malcolm (age11) & Travis (age 9). This is her 3rd overseas trip and the 2 boys' first time on a plane.

From the moment she arrived, she took to acting as the 'older' sister cum nanny cum maid - she gave me lots of advise on wat to do, wat not to do, how I shld handle this n that and when we went out, she helped me to carry the baby or the diaper bag.

Thanks to her, I was able to get out and about. I took them shopping @ Saigon Tax Center, Ben Thanh Market and Saigon Square; Sightseeing @ Cathedral & Post Office.

Cheng finished all her money within half a day of shopping! At Ben Thanh market we literaly covered 3 shops - Cashew nuts/lotus seeds, Slippers and Bags and at Saigon Square, we only managed to walk the ground level where she finished the remaining money in 2 shops buying shirts and bags.

And took lots of crazy photos!

We only had 2 meals out - Pho24 to eat Pho & drink Cafe Sua Da and Vietnam House.

The 3 giants have a very healthy appetite - they finished all my coke, orange juice, a whole tub of ice cream and lots more food! I'm sure the maid had a wonderful time cooking for them - seeing how they gobbled down everything and commenting on how delicious everything she cooked was.

The boys were delightful - very well behaved. Even though they were more than happy and would rather stay at my house and play wii all the time rather than go out sightseeing/shopping!

I have to say that Cousin Cheng brought them up really well. In fact, I want to applaud her for being the best mother (in terms of discipling) that I've known so far.

Even though my cousin is so big sized and can be really fierce when she wants to, she was a bloody scaredy cat... She din dare to go anywhere without me...It was only after I pushed her to take the boys to the War Museum that she finally went ... without me.

The funny thing was she told me and T that she is soooo proud of herself for being able to walk out, hail a cab and get to the war museum. But not without sticking her camera out of the window n snapping nonstop enroute to the museum so that in the event of getting lost, she can trace her way back! zzzz

And she wrote an A4 page worth of love letter to T - thanking him for his hospitality and saying goodbye etc.

Thanks for the great help and company my dear cousin! See u during CNY next yr!

PS: Ah Cheng is a siao ding dong - she thinks that Viet men are good looking! From the taxi driver to the vet who came to chk on my dogs... and even the SQ steward on her flight back! Horny biatch!
