Activity-filled Week for Ray

Despite being sick, we managed to accomplish quite a bit this trip.

Took Ray to the zoo on Wed morning. It was an impulse thing - we got up early that morning and rather than waste the time away, I got ready and we went to the zoo for 2.5 hrs.



We looked at most of the animals that he can already name - monkey, lion, tiger, zebra, giraffe etc.




He had the most fun chasing these ducks

And on Thursday morning, we went cycling at East Coast


He was so happy that he went "Mama, cycling" and he would make the pedaling motion with his hands

Last evening, we took him again to the Universal Studios where we had dinner and watched the fireworks display. Compared to our last visit 6 months ago, he was braver this time. Although, when it ended and he went back to everyone at the dinner table, he kept telling them "booom! scared scared".


The restaurant manager gave him a woody woodpecker lunchbox - "bag!"

While we are here, he's also become very close to the boy next door. His name is Christopher and he is 8 yrs old. We've already met during the last few trips that we were here. He's very fond of Ray and I must have been shouting "Ray-Ray" so loudly and often that he even knew that Ray's name is "Ray-Ray".



Rayhan is so happy to have a "friend" (now every little kid is "friend" to him) and he would always pass by at the neighbor's house, stand at the door and call for "kor kor". His new favorite word now is "PLAY"


And when Kor Kor comes over, it's Monkey See Monkey Do. It's hilarious watching the 2 boys play. Such a huge age gap but such a close bond already

A really funny incident took place last Sunday - my parents, grandma and Yen kor were over. And as they were getting ready to leave, Christopher came over and my dad invited him in. Immediately, Ray went to my dad (whom he is super duper clingy to!) and pushed him out the door and told him "bye". He then went to Yen Kor, held her hand, walked her to the door and told her "bye" too. And then he went to his friend and told him "come" - they proceeded to play in the play pen and Ray only stopped to say "bye" when my folks were out of the house.
PS: Kids never fail to amuse!
